SALEM RESIDENT ARRESTED IN STOLEN VEHICLE - INTERSTATE 205 NEAR WEST LINN (PHOTO)

A 19-year old Salem resident was arrested by Oregon State Police (OSP) early Friday morning after a trooper determined the car he was driving was stolen out of Marion County.
On October 3, 2014 at approximately 1:37 a.m., an OSP senior trooper patrolling southbound on Interstate 205 near Stafford Road was following a 1990 Honda Accord. As the trooper checked the vehicle plate and discovered the car was reported stolen to Marion County Sheriff's Office, the car abruptly pulled to the shoulder and stopped. With the help of another trooper, the southbound lanes were briefly closed as they took the driver into custody and detained three passengers.
Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the driver, MICHAEL RAY WILLIAMSON, age 19, from Salem, for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine. He was also determined to be on probation in Marion County. His probation officer issued a Probation Violation detainer as an added in-custody charge.
One of the passengers, ZACH M. CHRONISTER, age 19, from McMinnville, was cited and released to appear in court of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance - Methamphetamine.
The other two passengers were not arrested. They were transported to a secondary location and released.
