Looking to learn life-saving skills? The American Red Cross is holding a First Aid/CPR/AED class from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20, at the Hood River Armory. The course teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, head and neck injuries, heat and cold emergencies, and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for victims about 12 years and older. Successful students receive a certificate for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years. Class fee $70. Register by 12 p.m., Friday, Oct. 24, at www.redcross.org/takeaclass or 800-RED-CROSS.
