Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into a Friday afternoon single vehicle traffic crash along Highway 126W near Veneta that turned fatal after the victim was transported to a hospital. The victim's name will be released Saturday pending confirmation of next of kin notification.

On October 10, 2014 approximately 2:45 p.m., a passenger vehicle driven by an adult male was traveling on Highway 126W near milepost 48 when it went off the road and crashed into a tree. Local emergency responders including Lane Fire Authority were dispatched and the driver was extricated from the vehicle. He was transported by ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend and reportedly died about two hours later.

OSP troopers from the Springfield Area Command office are investigating the crash.
