OSP SEEKING TIPS TO LOCATE VEHICLE & DRIVER INVOLVED IN CRITICAL INJURY HIT & RUN PEDESTRIAN-INVOLVED CRASH - HIGHWAY 62 IN WHITE CITY

Oregon State Police (OSP) is asking for the public's help to locate a vehicle and driver involved in Saturday morning's pedestrian-involved serious injury hit & run crash on Highway 62 in White City.
According to Sergeant Jeff Allison, on October 4, 2014 at approximately 3:15 a.m., an adult male was struck by an unknown vehicle on Highway 62 near milepost 7 in front of the White City Goodwill store. Preliminary investigation indicates the pedestrian was walking in the northbound bike lane located between the right turn lane into the store and the right northbound lane.
The 41-year old male pedestrian was transported by Mercy Flights to Rogue Regional Medical Center and is in critical condition. His name is withheld pending next of kin notifications.
OSP troopers from the Central Point Area Command office are investigating the crash and seeking information to locate the vehicle and driver. Evidence at the scene indicates the involved vehicle sustained damage to a headlight/turn signal assembly, side mirror and possibly windshield or side glass. It is unknown at this time if the damage is to the right or left area of the involved vehicle.
Anyone with information is asked to contact OSP Southern Command Center dispatch at (541) 776-6111. Trooper Josh Wetzel is the lead investigator.
OSP was assisted at the scene by Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Jackson County Fire District 3, and ODOT. The right lane may still be closed as the investigation continues.
