MAN BARRICADED INSIDE VANCOUVER HOME

Vancouver, Wash. - On October 17, 2014 at approximately 5:00 p.m. Vancouver Police were contacted in person at the precinct by a female who reported one of the male family members of her residence had threatened and assaulted family members earlier in the day and was not allowing them to leave. Patrol officers responded to a residence in the 3700 block of NE 143rd Avenue and were able to make verbal contact with the male suspect who refused to come out.
The suspect is believed to be barricaded in the garage of the residence with the last remaining resident, who the suspect is not allowing to leave. The SW Washington Regional SWAT Team is at the residence and is keeping in verbal contact with the suspect in an effort to get him to peacefully surrender.
The suspect is facing multiple charges including Domestic Violence Assault and Unlawful Imprisonment.
The suspect is not being identified at this time. Additional details will be released as they become available.
