OSP REQUESTING PUBLIC'S HELP IN FATAL PEDESTRIAN-INVOLVED HIT & RUN CRASH - SHOREVIEW DRIVE EAST OF COTTAGE GROVE IN LANE COUNTY

Oregon State Police (OSP) is asking for the public's help to locate the vehicle and driver involved in Saturday night's fatal hit and run pedestrian-involved crash along Shoreview Drive east of Cottage Grove in Lane County. The victim's name is withheld pending next of kin notifications.
According to Sergeant Alan Gilbert, on September 27, 2014 at approximately 10:40 p.m., Lane County Sheriff's Office requested OSP's help with a report of a deceased body in the 35000 block of Shoreview Drive near Dorena Lake. OSP assumed the lead in the investigation that indicates an unknown vehicle struck a 39-year old male and fled the scene, leaving the victim laying in the center of the road.
OSP Springfield Area Command office patrol troopers and detectives are investigating the fatal hit and run crash. There are no current leads to help indicate the type of vehicle involved in this incident. Lead investigator is Trooper Mike Pelkey.
Anyone with information in this investigation is asked to call OSP Northern Command Center dispatch at 800-452-7888.
