Gresham, Ore.-On August 21, 2014, 51 year-old Scott Allen was reported missing from an adult care facility in Gresham. He is deaf and only communicates through American Sign Language.
On August 24, 2014 at 11:30 AM a Lane County Sheriff's Deputy located Allen while responding to a call of a disoriented man at a gas station in Veneta, Ore., which is 12 miles west of Eugene. It is unclear how Allen got to Veneta but he told police that he was heading for a relative's home in California. Allen was not injured but was taken to a hospital in Eugene to have his medical and mental status evaluated. The adult care facility in Gresham has been notified and they are working with the Lane County Sheriff's Office and the hospital to have Allen transported back to Gresham. Gresham Police thank the public for helping look for Allen.
