August 21, 2014 -- A traffic stop in Cornelius leads to the driver's arrest on an outstanding warrant, drug and weapons charges.

Sheriff's Deputies serving the City of Cornelius stopped a vehicle on August 21, at 2:21 a.m., on South 10th Avenue at South Cherry Street for failing to stop for a traffic light. The driver gave deputies several false names, but was later identified as Jeremy Alan Brubeck, 28, of Vernonia. Deputies learned his correct name after searching the vehicle and locating his identification.

Deputies discovered a handgun within reach of the driver's seat. After searching the vehicle, they located ammunition, cash, methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, marijuana, and items commonly used to distribute controlled substances. As Mr. Brubeck was taken into custody at the scene, additional live ammunition fell out of his pants.
Mr. Brubeck was arrested and lodged in the Washington County Jail. He is charged with 15 crimes including:

*Possession, Manufacture and Delivery of Heroin, Methamphetamine, Marijuana, and Cocaine
*Felon in Possession of a Weapon
*Giving False Information to a Police Officer

He is also being held on an outstanding felony warrant for violating his parole. He is held on $50,000 bail.
