PORTLAND FIRE & RESCUE RESPONDS TO AN COMMERCIAL FIRE (1623 NE 15TH AVE.)

This evening at 5:47 pm Portland Firefighters were called to a building at 1623 NE 15th Avenue. When they arrived firefighters from Station 13 found large hedges on fire with fire extending into the building. Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, while evacuating the building. Weidler Street was closed due to the fire.
Portions of the building needed to be cut away to fully extinguish the fire. No injuries were associated with this fire. A fire investigator was called to determine the cause of this fire. Cause and damage estimates will be added to this release when they are available. If images become available they will be added to this release.
