Firefighters were dispatched to a fire (1136 NE 72ND ave) at 12:42 am. A neighbor called 911 after seeing flames coming from the roof of a nearby duplex. After verifying that all of the occupants were out of the units, firefighters attacked the fire from the outside, knocking down the bulk of it. Fire crews then went inside and opened up the ceiling and the attic spaces to extinguish the remaining fire. No one was injured during this fire.

The fire was caused by a faulty attic fan and damaged has been assessed at $10,000.
