MOLALLA BUCKEROO GIANT PARADE ROAD CLOSURE

Well it's almost that time of year the City of Molalla celebrates our country's independence. In Molalla, that means it's almost Molalla Buckeroo time. Part of the Buckeroo festivities include the Giant Street Parade on the morning of July 4th.
The Molalla Police Department wants to remind everyone planning on attending the Big Parade that there will be a 5k run right before the parade that utilizes the parade route. The Freedom 5k is scheduled to start at 9:20am. In order for the route to be safe for the contestants and spectators alike, we will be closing the entire parade route at 9:00am. This means that anyone planning on attending needs to be in their desired area prior to 9:00am. Once the route is closed, vehicle traffic will not be allowed into the parade route area. Also, the parade route encircles a large part of the downtown core and residential areas, so vehicle traffic will not be able to enter or exit the downtown area until after the parade has finished.
We also want to remind citizens that won't be attending the parade that there will be a detour around the parade route. The detour is as follows:
- Eastbound traffic on Hwy 211 from Hwy 213: Turn right on S Ona Way, left on S Molalla Forest Rd and then left on Mathias back to Hwy 211.
- Westbound traffic on Hwy 211 from the east side of town: Left on Mathias Rd, right on S Molalla Forest Rd, right on S Ona Way and left back onto Hwy 211.
There will be detour signs to help navigate the detour.
