On 05-13-14 at about 6:25 pm, Happy Valley Police responded to a fatal traffic crash between a motor vehicle and two motorcycles. The crash occurred on Hwy 212 near SE 142nd Ave, in Happy Valley. The crash is still under investigation.

On 05-13-14 at about 6:25 pm, members of the Happy Valley Police Department responded to a report of a traffic accident in the area of Hwy 212 and SE 142nd Ave, in Happy Valley, OR. The involved vehicles included a 2010 Mazda Tribute, which is a compact sport utility vehicle, and two motorcycles.

Preliminary statements indicate all three vehicles were traveling on Hwy 212. The crash occurred while the SUV was passing the motorcycles. The SUV struck the motorcycles, causing one of the riders to be thrown from the motorcycle, onto the roadway and into the path of the SUV. This rider died at the scene. The rider's name is not being released at this time, pending family notification. The other drivers reported no other injuries and are not being identified at this time.

The drivers of the SUV and second motorcycle remained on scene, and are cooperating with investigators. It is unknown at this time, whether drugs or alcohol played a part in this incident. The investigation is ongoing.
