At 12:43 am today, TVF&R firefighters were called to assist a homeowner in Wilsonville whose prize-winning bull, Patrick, fell down a steep, 20' embankment and was stuck on the riverbank. The incident commander requested help from TVF&R's Technical and Water Rescue teams due to the precarious terrain. Firefighter Blake Reichel (shown in video) swam to the bull to secure him with a rope and keep him calm while firefighters above cleared a path down the embankment and through thick brush. With some gentle coaxing from his owner, Patrick climbed up the hill while several firefighters pulled his line. Patrick appeared uninjured and remained calm during the rescue which lasted about an hour.
