Celebrate summer with more cash back for easy home energy efficiency upgrades
Both new and increased cash incentives from Pacific Power help California customers save more energy, money
YREKA, California. -- Starting today, Pacific Power is increasing its cash-back offers to customers for their high-efficiency home improvements and adding some new incentives to help customers from Crescent City to Alturas to Mount Shasta save big on a wide variety of energy upgrades that improve their comfort at home and help lower monthly electricity costs.
"May is a great time to get started on any projects that may require some outside work over the summer and these cash incentives will get you moving quickly," said Todd Andres, Pacific Power's regional community manager. "We want our customers to take advantage of these offers, improving their home comfort while saving money on energy. Whatever you save, you can use for something else you want or need throughout the year. It pays to be wattsmart in California."
Increased cash incentives include:
* $50 cash back for qualified refrigerator, clothes washer and electric water heater purchases - a 150 percent increase for some appliances.
* Refrigerator and freezer recycling. Get $50 for your old unit, 40 percent more than the previous amount.
* Up to $1,000 cash back on efficient heat pump installations, and savings of up to $1,500 for ductless heat pumps.
New offers include:
* Instant in-store discounts are now available for qualified LED bulbs, which offer 85 percent greater efficiency than traditional light bulbs and can last up to 25 years.
* Up to $0.75 per square foot cash back on insulation upgrades that deliver year-round comfort and savings.
* Up to $600 cash back on efficient heat pump water heaters.
* $500 for duct sealing and duct insulation.
There's also a bonus incentive for homeowners who choose to take on several energy efficiency projects. The Whole Home Upgrade package includes up to $1,000 in additional cash back savings when qualified HVAC and weatherization upgrades are bundled together.
The new and improved incentive offerings arrive at a good time, given the recent rollout of California's greenhouse gas emissions reduction program, which aims to lower the state's carbon footprint. Residents who use less energy ultimately pay a lower cost, plus they receive a semi-annual bill credit to help invest in energy-saving home improvements.
