Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into Tuesday morning's serious injury traffic crash involving a pickup and commercial truck on Highway 9 7 about eight miles north of LaPine. The highway was closed for approximately 3.5 hours.

On March 11, 2014 at approximately 8:53 a.m., a Dodge pickup driven by, WILLIAM GOOD, age 31, from Bend was northbound on Highway 97 near milepost 160 when it crossed the centerline and collided nearly head-on with a southbound commercial truck. The commercial truck, driven by JUAN RAZO-NORIEGA, age 34, from Bend, came to rest off the highway in the trees and the Dodge pickup was positioned on the highway.

GOOD was extricated by firefighters and transported to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend with serious injuries. RAZO-NORIEGA was reported not injured. Both GOOD and RAZO-NORIEGA were wearing safety belts.

OSP was assisted at the scene by Deschutes County Sheriff's Office, LaPine Rural Fire Protection District, and ODOT.
