"This important advisory committee will work collaboratively with the dedicated volunteers that are working tirelessly to bring our community's vision to life," said Mayor Denny Doyle. "Through the support of committees like this one, we can prioritize our planning efforts to ensure the city's economic vitality, livability and vibrancy."

Members of the CAC will review draft materials and preview upcoming activities. The CAC will also be responsible for relaying information between the committee and community groups.

Those interested in serving on the CAC should have the following:

* Ability to represent the interests of a local community group or organization

* Strong interest in and understanding of the public involvement process

* Ability to work collaboratively with people of diverse perspectives and experiences

* Willingness to contribute to successful group work

* Ability to commit 2-3 hours every quarter, plus preparation for quarterly meetings; public involvement events; and potentially additional subcommittee meetings

* Live, work and/or go to school in the City of Beaverton

Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee consisting of Community Development and Mayor's Office staff. The deadline to apply is Monday, March 31. For an application or more information, please visit www.BeavertonOregon.gov/ComprehensivePlan2035.

In 2014, the city will oversee a 5-Year update to its Community Vision program as well as the Comprehensive Plan update.
