ODOT: Valley, No. Coast: US 20 (Corvallis-Newport Hwy.) will be restricted to a single lane of travel indefinitely approximately 4 miles west of Eddyville (MP 19), after the Yaquina River's high waters scoured the road embankment. No asphalt has been lost yet but the road foundation has been eroded and is too weak to handle traffic in the eastbound lane. Flaggers will control travel through the area until the problem can be fixed. The location is on a curve in the highway and motorists should slow down when approaching the area. Electronic message boards and other signs will alert motorists to the lane restriction.
