Posted on FlashAlert: February 13th, 2014 2:58 PM
The Clackamas County Peace Officers' Benevolent Foundation ( http://ccpobf.org/ ) has established the "Officer Nathan Seitz Fund." Over the past several months, Nathan ("Nate") has acquired IgA Nephropathy with stage 5 kidney failure -- an autoimmune disease that is quickly destroying his kidney function. Nate requires a kidney transplant.
A video interview with Nate is now posted here, on the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office YouTube channel: http://youtu.be/yUdvxAYxlik
Nate Seitz, 29, works as a Clackamas County Community Corrections Officer and is assigned to the Women's Corrections Substance Abuse Program (WCSAP) at Residential Services. Nate is an active community member -- participating in athletics, coaching youth basketball in Happy Valley, Oregon, and mentoring youth at his church.
Money raised for the "Officer Nathan Seitz Fund" will be used to assist Nate and his wife with related medical expenses and living expenses during the absence of Nate's income, and to offset the cost of maintaining his medical insurance upon expiration of his County paid benefits. It is projected that Nate will be off work for approximately 8 months.
Direct donations can now be made by mailing a check to:
CCPOBF
P.O. Box 678
Clackamas, OR 97015
Please make the check payable to CCPOBF and put "Officer Nathan Seitz Fund" in the memo line. Donors will receive a donation receipt using this method. The CCPOBF is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit foundation.
Donations can also be made in person at any branch of Clackamas Federal Credit Union. Locations can be found by entering this link: https://www.clackamasfcu.org/About/Locations When making a donation at the bank, please let the teller know that the donation is for the "Officer Nathan Seitz Fund," which is under the Clackamas County Peace Officers' Benevolent Foundation.
