UPDATE: NAME RELEASED - FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH - HIGHWAY 238 WEST OF JACKSONVILLE IN JACKSON COUNTY

Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation of Monday night's single vehicle fatal traffic crash on Highway 238 about three miles west of Jacksonville that resulted in the death of a 42-year old male. The victim's name is released in this update.
According to Sergeant David Beck,, on January 7, 2014 at approximately 11:17 p.m., a 1996 GMC pickup driven by RONALD EDWARD HUSSEY JR, age 42, from Jacksonville, was westbound on Highway 238 near milepost 30 when it traveled off the north side of the highway. The pickup struck a small utility pole and rolled before coming to rest off the highway on its wheels.
HUSSEY was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene. He was not using safety restraints.
OSP troopers from the Central Point Area Command office are continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash. Trooper Jessica Hall is the lead investigator.
OSP was assisted at the scene by local fire personnnel and ODOT.
