VANCOUVER POLICE SEEK ASSISTANCE TO LOCATE ENDANGERED INFANT (UPDATE 3)

The Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes Unit, Missing Persons and Neighborhood Response Team detectives, in conjunction with the Washington State Department of Corrections, have made the following arrests as a result of contacts during the investigation of this case. These arrests were based on outstanding warrants and drug charges. The search for the missing infant and the suspects is continuing.

On December 5, 2013, Detectives from the Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes Unit arrested Michael Grant Fuller, DOB 5/30/1980, for Kidnap 1 and Rendering Criminal Assistance in connection with the case involving Jaxon Smith. Fuller is being booked into the Clark County Jail. Detectives are continuing to follow up on leads related to individuals who are assisting Summer B. Smith and Kasey McKernan in eluding the police and continuing to place Jaxon Smith in danger and anticipate making additional arrests of individuals who are rendering assistance to the suspects in this case.
The Vancouver Police Major Crimes Unit has located and recovered the black 1996 Chevrolet S-10 pickup that Smith and McKernan were last seen driving. The FBI is also rendering assistance to the Major Crimes Team in this investigation.
Anyone with information on the current location of Summer B. Smith, Kasey McKernan or Jaxon Smith should call the Vancouver Police Tip Line at (360)487-7399.

The Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes Unit is seeking assistance from the public to locate a missing, endangered 5 month old infant, Jaxon Smith (7/2/13). Detectives are investigating a criminal case involving, Jaxon who is believed to be with one or both of his parents:
Summer B. Smith 7/9/77
Kasey McKernan 5/17/82
Washington Child Protective Services had taken custody of Jaxon pursuant to a court order on 11/27/2013. During the custody transfer, Kasey McKernan snatched the child and fled in a vehicle driven by Summer Smith. McKernan assaulted a CPS worker during this incident and criminal charges are pending against both McKernan and Smith. The vehicle was identified as a black 1996 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck bearing Washington License Plate # A11272U.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Summer Smith, Kasey McKernan, or Jaxon Smith are asked to contact the Vancouver Police Department Tip Line at (360)487-7399.
