On Sunday, December 8, 2013, the Vancouver Police Department and Nautilus Inc. are partnering for the 10th Annual Nautilus Holiday Helpers event to make this holiday season a lot brighter for needy kids in our community. The event will be held at the Target store at 16200 NE Mill Plain Blvd. from 5:30a.m.-7:00a.m.

The event focuses around pairing Nautilus Inc. staff and Vancouver Police Department staff with a needy child in the community as they go on a shopping spree. The Vancouver Police Department works with several social service agencies in the community to identify and select children in need to participate in this program. (all children have already been pre-selected and this event is not open to the general public).

Members of the media are invited and encouraged to attend this event and should arrive at 5:30a.m., with the kids arriving approximately 5:45a.m.

This is the 10th year for this event and the Vancouver Police Department is excited to be partnering once again with Nautilus Inc. for such a great charitable event. The need in the community is at a very high level and this year 60 kids expected to participate.

"This annual event is something all of our employees look forward to each year. Throughout the ten years we've been partnering with the Vancouver Police Department, we've seen so many children in our community receive the help they need," said Wayne Bolio, Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Law. "This is just one way we can give back to the community and seeing these children smile truly embraces the meaning of the holiday season."
