On November 26th, 2013 the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office was alerted to an injured climber that had fallen into a crater in the area known as, The Hogsback, on Mt Hood. This information was provided to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office by another climber who is with the injured climber.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Coordinators deployed to Timberline Lodge along with resources from Portland Mountain Rescue, American Medical Response Reach and Treat Team, and the Mountain Wave Search and Rescue.

Clackamas County Deputies have been in contact with the climber who called 911 via cellphone. AMR's Reach and Treat Team and members of Portland Mountain Rescue have already set off to the climber's location to render aid and assess his situation.

Currently there is a HH-60M Medical Evacuation Helicopter from the Oregon Army National Guard on its way to Mt Hood. The helicopter will assist with the rescue if needed and may transport to climber to an area hospital.
