GRESHAM POLICE STABBING INVESTIGATION: UPDATE

Gresham, Ore. - This evening just before 9:00 p.m., Gresham Police and medics responded to a report of an assault at an apartment in the 300 block of NE Cleveland ave., Gresham. The victim is a 29-year-old white male from Portland. His condition remains unknown, but he is being treated at an area trauma hospital. The second victim is a 40-year-old Hispanic female from Gresham. Her injuries do not appear to be life threatening and she is seeking treatment at a local hospital.
During their investigation, officers learned that the suspect and the female victim are married and that the initial altercation which led to this incident was a domestic assault. The suspect is described as a 45-year-old Hispanic male, approximately 5-foot-4 inches tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds with short messy dark hair. He was last seen wearing a blue polo shirt with light colored horizontal stripes and blue jeans, and was last seen running south from the area towards E Powell blvd. The suspect's identity is not being released at this time because it is an ongoing investigation and no charges have been filed yet.
