ARREST MADE IN STABBING INVESTIGATION

On November 29, 2013 just before 9:00 p.m., Gresham Police and medics responded to a report of an assault at an apartment in the 300 block of NE Cleveland ave., Gresham. During their investigation, officers determined that 45-year-old Pedro Nuñez-Valdivia of Gresham and 40-year-old Maria Rodriguez were fighting near the 600 block of NE Cleveland ave. A witness to the fight, 29-year-old Kit Haberman of Portland, tried to stop the fight and got stabbed by Nuñez-Valdivia at that time. Rodriguez also received a minor cut during the incident.

Officers located Nuñez-Valdivia nearby and arrested him. Investigators interviewed him and charged him with two counts of Assault II, two counts of Unlawful Use of Weapon and Domestic Violence Strangulation. He was taken to the Multnomah County Detention Center and lodged. Photo is available from Multnomah County Sheriff's Office
