Repairing damage from May 5 storm requires temporary outage to Glide area
Necessary repair will cut power to 2,300 customers early Sunday, June 2

GLIDE, Ore. -Approximately 2,300 Pacific Power customers near Glide will experience an electricity outage between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Sunday, June 2 while a vital wire, damaged in a major thunderstorm on May 5, is repaired.

These Pacific Power customers have been individually notified about the outage, which is necessary to safely complete the repair work. Pacific Power will have 15 crew members deployed to do the repairs as quickly and safely as possible. In addition to repairing the wire, Pacific Power also will replace a pole and lower a support arm to improve clearance and reliability.

The outage will affect an area along Highway 138 east of Foster Lane, through Glide and to Moore Hill Lane, about 15 miles east of Glide. The Whistlers Bend community north of Highway 138 as well as the area along Buckhorn Road east of Strader Road to Glide will be without power. The outage also will affect residents along Little River Road out to Cool Water Road.

"Pacific Power really appreciates the understanding of our customers when planned outages such as this are necessary," said Monte Mendenhall, Pacific Power regional community manager. "Shutting off the power while our crews do this work on the electrical system ensures that everyone stays safe, and helps ensure reliable power they count on is available to everyone in the community when we're done."

Customers with questions about the planned outage can call Pacific Power toll free at 1-888-221-7070. Any outages during that time outside the affected area should continue to be reported to Pacific Power at 1-877-508-5088.
