ODOT: PDX, Mt. Hood - WED 10:18am

ODOT: PDX, Mt. Hood: U.S. 30 between downtown Portland and the St. Johns Bridge will remain closed through the evening commute. PGE crews are replacing power poles and power lines brought down on both sides of the highway early this morning when trees fell. ODOT is clearing the roadway and assessing the hillside where the trees fell.
The St. Johns Bridge remains open, accessible from U.S. 30 on the north/west side of the bridge, and from N. Philadelphia Ave. on the east side of the bridge.
Motorists should plan ahead to use alternate routes, such as Cornelius Pass Road to/from U.S. 26; I-5 to N. Lombard St. to the St. Johns Bridge to continue northwest on U.S. 30; or even I-5 to Longview, WA, to cross the Lewis & Clark Bridge into Rainier, OR and U.S. 30.
Travelers should expect more congestion along I-5 north of downtown Portland because of the closure on U.S. 30.
