KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -- The Pacific Power Foundation has awarded a $2,500 grant to the Klamath Falls Gospel Mission in support of its capital campaign fund to build a new women's emergency shelter.

"The Klamath Falls Gospel Mission has been helping serve basic needs of many homeless and at-risk citizens in the Basin for more than 50 years. Pacific Power Foundation thanks the mission for its great work, and is pleased to invest in the organization to help it continue much-needed service in the community," said Angela Price, Pacific Power regional community manager.

"This wonderful gift is helping us meet our goal of raising $1.6 million to get this facility built," said Kent Berry, executive director of the Klamath Falls Gospel Mission.

The Foundation grant will help the Mission's campaign to build a 7,000-square-foot shelter to serve single, homeless women. Currently, no facility exists to serve these needs in the area. The Mission has served 117,000 meals in the last two years, often in multiple shifts. The new shelter will include a state-of-the-art kitchen and dining hall.
