CANBY YOUTH SUFFERS INJURY IN SKATEBOARD ACCIDENT

Canby fire responded on April 24th, at 4:01 pm to a report of a skate boarder that had fell after coming down a hill at a high rate of speed. When firefighters arrived they found him down in the middle of the road being assisted by bystanders. Paramedics quickly assessed the patient and rushed him to a trauma center for treatment.
This is a good reminder as we get these nice spring days always watch out for skateboarders and bicyclist. Always wear your Helmet
Helmets have been shown in studies to reduce the risk of head injury by 85 percent and the risk of brain injury by 90 percent.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, more than 15,600 persons need hospital emergency room treatment each year for injuries related to skateboarding.
