FATALITY ACCIDENT

14:00 Hrs UPDATE:

Traffic Homicide Investigators have determined that excessive speed and operator impairment were primary causing factors in the fatality crash occurring on Rawson Road this AM. The driver is identified as:
TASMALY, Yuri V. 18 YOA of Vancouver, Wa.
Tasmaly was booked into CCSO jail on charges of:
Vehicular Homicide
Felony Hit and Run
Vehicle Theft
Additional charges of (DUII) Driving under the influence of Intoxicants and (DWS) Driving while Operator's License Suspended were referred to the Clark County Prosecutor's Office

The deceased passenger is identified as:
GOLOVACH, Mikhail L. 18 YOA of Vancouver, Wa.
Family notifications have been made.

9AM UPDATE: See attached scene photos - The driver in this crash is being transported to SW Peace Health Hospital for medical evaluation, upon release from the hospital, he will be taken into custody for Felony Hit and Run. No names are being released at this time. The Clark County Sheriff's Office Traffic Homicide Unit is on scene. This investigation is ongoing, additional charges may be applied. Nothing more to release at this time...

A few minutes after six this morning 911 received a phone call from a citizen who lives in the 26400 of NE Rawson rd. the caller reported that a vehicle had crashed into a tree. A passenger in the vehicle was determined to be deceased, and the driver was not with the vehicle. Deputies are currently searching the area for the driver. There is no additional information at this time. I will update this press release as additional information becomes available.

At about 7:30 am deputies locate a male near Larch Mountain. He had some obvious injuries and was being evaluated by medics. It appears that this subject was the driver of the crashed vehicle. No additional information is being released at this time.
