THREE INJURED IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENT.

On 02/21/13 about 1130 hours The Clark County Sheriff Office Traffic unit was called out to investigate a traffic accident where three people received injuries.
John Gosnell (19 yo) was operating a 1981 Toyota Cressida traveling northbound on NE 54th Ave from SR-500. Jacob Brooks (30yo) was operating a 2006 Chevrolet Suburban traveling southbound on NE 54th Ave. The collision occurred as Brooks was turning east on NE 40th St from NE 54th Ave. Witnesses reported the Toyota was traveling well above the posted 30 MPH speed limit just prior to the collision event. Evidence at the scene suggests speed was a contributing factor in the collision.
Gosnell was transported to Peace Health Southwest Medical Center with a broken femur. A juvenile passenger in the Toyota suffered serious non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland Oregon for treatment. Brooks suffered a minor leg injury and was treated at Peace Health Southwest Medical Center and released.
