February 28, 2013-- Washington County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a crash in Raleigh Hills. It was reported a car caused a crash then fled the scene. A Tigard man was located and arrested. He was charged with numerous crimes.

On February 28, 2013 at 5:41 p.m. Washington County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a reported hit and run crash at SW Scholls Ferry Road north of SW Beaverton Hillsdale Highway. This is in Raleigh Hills, an area of Enhanced Sheriff's Patrol District (ESPD).
Deputies received information that a vehicle was seen driving recklessly prior to crashing into another vehicle then the driver threatened the occupants with a baseball bat before fleeing the scene.

Sheriff's Deputies arrived and found a 2008 Chevrolet Impala had fresh damage to the right rear side and taillight. There was also a four inch dent in the left side rear door that appeared to have been recently struck with a blunt object. There were two occupants inside the car that fortunately were not injured. Witnesses were able to provide a description and a license plate number associated to a white 2000 Ford Expedition that fled the area prior to the deputies' arrival.

Deputies located the Expedition at a house at 10610 SW Walnut Street in Tigard. It was determined the vehicle was driven by Ryan Thomas, 22, who resides at the Walnut Street address. Deputies contacted Mr. Thomas who was not cooperative with the investigation. Ryan Thomas was detained until investigators could determine what occurred during the incident.

Witnesses told deputies that Mr. Thomas was driving south on SW Scholls Ferry Road when he passed the Impala using a "left turn only" lane. Witnesses said that when traffic slowed, it appeared that Mr. Thomas intentionally rammed the Impala as it was in a turn lane attempting to turn left. The Impala was passing Mr. Thomas' vehicle that was in the lane to the right, waiting for stopped traffic. Numerous witnesses told deputies that they saw Mr. Thomas exit his vehicle as he began yelling and cursing loudly while swinging a baseball bat. It appears he struck the Impala at least once with the bat.

Ryan Thomas was arrested and charged with Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Reckless Endangering, Menacing, Disorderly Conduct, Hit and Run, Reckless Driving, and Criminal Mischief. He was lodged in the Washington County Jail and is held on $25,000 bail.
