UPDATE #5: AMBER ALERT DEACTIVATED - CHILD LOCATED SAFE, SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

NOTE: The Dalles City Police Department and Wasco County Sheriff's Office will be the release point for anymore details about the initial incident, investigation, and locating of the child and suspect.

Background information about Oregon's AMBER Alert Program is available on the OSP website at:
http://www.oregon.gov/OSP/AMBERALERT/pages/index.aspx. This has been Oregon's 19th activation since the program began ten years ago. Twenty-one children have been successfully located related to those activations.

Oregon State Police has been notified the suspect and child that were the subject of Wednesday morning's AMBER Alert in The Dalles were both located. The child, SKYLAR MELDIN COULCER-JARDING, age 5, is reported safe and the suspect, BRIAN LESTER DEPRIEST, age 36, is in custody. More details will be released later when authorized by The Dalles Police Department.
