PRELIMINARY INFORMATION: FATAL PEDESTRIAN-INVOLVED TRAFFIC CRASH - SE 82ND AVENUE NEAR SE SUNNYBROOK BOULEVARD

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are starting an investigation into Tuesday evening's collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian on SE 82nd Avenue (Highway 213S) and SE Sunnybrook Boulevard that has become a confirmed fatality. OSP doesn't anticipate the release of any other information than is listed in this release until Wednesday.
Preliminary information indicates on January 15, 2013 at approximately 8:20 p.m., a collision involving a pedestrian and a motor vehicle occurred. Initially it was reported as serious injury but after emergency responders arrived on scene they confirmed the pedestrian was deceased. The vehicle and operator remained on scene.
The southbound lanes of SE 82nd Avenue are closed during the investigation. Traffic updates can be monitored on ODOT's website www.TripCheck.com.
