PARENT OF THREE YEAR OLD LOCATED

On January 3, 2013 at approximately 1:00 p.m., Vancouver Police responded to Washington
Elementary (2905 S Street) for the report of a toddler that was located in the street near the school. Vancouver Police attempted to locate the parent of the toddler but were unsuccessful. Child Protective Services was contacted and took the child into their care.
At approximately 4:15 p.m. dispatch received a call from a mother who discovered her child was missing from the home and matched the description of the toddler that was located earlier. The Vancouver Police Department is in contact with the parent and Child Protective Services will also meet with the parent regarding this incident.
The Vancouver Police Department would like to thank the media and the public for getting information about this incident out, it was instrumental in resolving this situation.
