VANCOUVER POLICE INVESTIGATE FATALITY COLLISION (UPDATE: VICTIM IDENTITY)

The pedestrian killed in in yesterday's collision is Donald L. Collins, 62, of Vancouver.
The Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit is continuing the investigation.

On December 17, 2012 at approximately 5:50 p.m., Vancouver Police responded to E Mill Plain Blvd/Andresen Rd. for a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian. When emergency personnel responded they located the pedestrian deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative. According to witnesses, the driver was traveling westbound on E Mill Plain Blvd. when the pedestrian stepped into the lane of traffic from a median and was struck.
The driver of the vehicle, Scotty R. Rowles, 47, was arrested for DUI-Marijuana.
The westbound lanes of E Mill Plain Blvd. in the area of Andresen will be closed for several hours while the Vancouver Police Traffic Unit is on scene conducting the investigation.
The name of the pedestrian is not being released at this time, pending notification of next of kin.
