News Release from: Clark Co. Sheriff's Office
ON-LINE CRIME REPORTING SYSTEM AVAILABLE IN CLARK COUNTY
Posted: December 11th, 2012 4:33 PM

The Clark County Sheriff's Office is pleased to announce a new on-line Citizen Report System, provided by CopLogic which allows citizens to make some types of minor crime reports via the inter-net.
The Citizen Report System will allow members of the public to file a police report at a time that is best for them without having to wait for a deputy to respond or call them back. The public will be able to print a temporary copy of the report upon submitting the report. The report will be reviewed by the Sheriff's Office and once approved the filing person will receive an email with a copy of the report attached without cost. The report will transfer into the Sheriff's Office records management system and receive the same investigation and statistical analysis ability as if the report had been filed by a deputy.
To file a report on line, visit www.clark.wa.gov/sheriff or call 360.397.2022 for detailed instructions on what types of crimes may be filed and a guide to file an on line report.
Typical crimes reported on line are vehicle prowls, identity theft, fraud, property damage hit and run, telephone harassment or other minor criminal activity when no suspect is known. Emergency calls, large dollar value thefts, vehicle thefts or any report involving threats of violence or use of a weapon must still be reported through 911.
This web based reporting option will allow deputies more time to address community needs while keeping pace with the public expectancy to complete services via the internet.
