HIT AND RUN ACCIDENT

On 12/17/2012 at approximately 8pm Clark County deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on St. Johns road. The vehicle accelerated away at a high rate of speed east on NE 78th Street. Deputies did not pursue the suspect vehicle.
A few minutes later dispatch received a call of an accident near Walnut Grove Elementary School at 6103 NE 72ND AVE. The vehicle involved in the crash was the same vehicle that had just fled from deputies.
According to witnesses the suspect was still traveling at a high rate of speed. It struck a vehicle being driven on 72nd Ave, the suspect vehicle lost control and struck a telephone pole. The driver of the suspect vehicle got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.
A witness attempted to follow the suspect. The suspect armed himself with a handgun and confronted the witness. The suspect threatened the witness with the gun and told him not to continue following.
A K-9 track was done with unsuccessful results.
The suspect has been tentatively identified as:
FRANCE,JESSE J
DOB/12-31-1983
White male EYE/BLU;HGT/5-11;WGT/140
Vancouver Resident
