December 17, 2012--Washington County Detectives are investigating a homicide that
occurred at a house on Pumpkin Ridge Road. They are searching for a person who is a
possible witness.
On December 12, 2012, Washington County Sheriff's Deputies received an emergency call
from James Fronsman, 51, reporting that when he returned home from an outing he
found his wife deceased. Sheriff's Deputies responded to the residence at 24450 NW
Pumpkin Ridge Road and found Theresa Fronsman, 50, deceased in the house. This is a
rural area in northern Washington County north of the city of North Plains.
Sheriff's Deputies found there were many suspicious circumstances involved in the
incident. The cause of death was not immediately identified. The Washington County
Violent Crimes Unit Detectives arrived to assist in the investigation.
Detectives interviewed many people and the Washington County Forensics Unit processed
a large amount of evidence. There was a search warrant served at the residence on
December 13, 2012. On December 14, 2012, the Medical Examiner determined the cause
of death to be homicidal violence. The cause of death will not be released at this time.
Sheriff's Detectives are searching for a neighbor that lives in a mobile home on the same
large acreage parcel that the Fronsman's residence is located. He is Robert Hardison, 50,
from 24080 NW Pumpkin Ridge Road (photo attached). Investigators believe Mr.
Hardison may have information critical to this investigation. He has not been seen or
heard from since the afternoon of December 12, 2012. Detectives are asking that anyone
that has information about Mr. Hardison's whereabouts or may have seen anything out of
the ordinary or suspicious to call the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
This is not considered to be a random crime and investigators do not believe the person
who committed the homicide to be a danger to the public. The investigation is ongoing
and there is no further information available at this time.
Detectives are seeking the public's help regarding this case. If you have any information,
please call the Washington County Sheriff's Office at (503) 846-2500.
