BORING FIRE DISTRICT RESPONDS TO A CHLORINE LEAK

Just before 9:00am, Boring Fire District received a call for a chlorine leak at Iseli Nursery on SE Tickle Creek Rd. Crews arrived on scene to find a small leak in a 1500 gallon tank used to clean water for the nursery. HazMat 3 which is a group of Hazardous Material specialists from Gresham Fire and Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, were dispatched soon thereafter.
Boring Fire District and HazMat 3 worked together with the company that owns the tank and valves to get the leaked stopped shortly after Noon.
There were no injuries reported and there was not a threat to the waterways during the incident.
Boring Fire District would like to remind people if you suspect a gas or chemical leak at your place of business or home, to call 911 immediately.
