A Milwaukie-area man was arrested by Oregon State Police (OSP) on several charges following a Saturday night alcohol-involved serious injury traffic crash on Highway 99E in Oak Grove.

According to Trooper Ted Moisan, on November 10, 2012 at approximately 7:55 p.m., a 2007 Ford F150 pickup driven by MICHAEL JOHN DEC, age 66, from Milwaukie, was northbound on Highway 99E (SE McLoughlin Boulevard) and attempted to turn left across the southbound lanes when it collided nearly head-on with a southbound 2007 Subaru Legacy station wagon driven by CATHY A. BENNETT, age 59, from West Linn. A nearby pedestrian was hit by vehicle debris and also injured.

DEC was transported to Kaiser Sunnyside Hospital for an examination and then taken into custody by OSP. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail for DUII, Reckless Driving, Assault in the Third Degree, and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree.

BENNETT was transported by ambulance to Oregon Health & Science University for treatment of serious injuries.

Both drivers were using safety restraints and their vehicle airbags deployed.

Pedestrian CHRISTOPHER J. MYERS, age 48, from Milwaukie, received minor injuries and was transported to Providence Milwaukie Hospital. After being treated and released, Clackamas County deputies arrested MYERS on an outstanding warrant (charge not available) out of Multnomah County.

OSP was also assisted at the scene by Clackamas County Fire District 1.
