City of Sherwood Launches Annual Veterans Day Ceremony

CITY OF SHERWOOD LAUNCHES ANNUAL VETERANS DAY CEREMONY

Honoring All Who Served

This year the City of Sherwood will honor Veterans with a Ceremony in Veterans Park. The event will take place on Monday, November 12th at 11:00 am. Keynote and guest speakers include Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici and Chaplain, Major Trisa Kelly. Chaplain, Major Trisa Kelly serves the Oregon Air National Guard's 142nd Fighter Wing as the Deputy Wing Chaplain.

The program will also feature Oregon City High School's JROTC Color Guard, Tim Birr from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Pipes & Drums, students from Sherwood High School's A Cappella Choir and the Voices for the Performing Arts Footnote Choir.

"This is an event that was important for me to get started since my first day on the job. I believe that recognizing and thanking Veterans is essential to building a strong community," says City Manager Joseph Gall.

Following the ceremony, the Sherwood Heritage Center Museum will open their doors with displays and artifacts collected from various wartime periods.

The Veterans Day Ceremony, Honoring All Who Served, will take place on Monday, November 12 at 11:00 am in Veterans Park (22547 SW Main Street, Sherwood, OR 97140).
