PRELIMINARY INFORMATION - FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH - SHOREVIEW DRIVE NEAR DORENA LAKE IN LANE COUNTY

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into Wednesday afternoon's traffic crash along Shoreview Drive near Dorena Lake that resulted in the death of an adult male motorcycle operator. Additional information and names will be released later when available.
According to Sergeant Alan Gilbert, on October 17, 2012 at approximately 4:15 p.m., a motorcycle operated by an adult male was eastbound on Shoreview Drive near milepost 2 east of Gillespie Road when the operator lost control and collided with a westbound pickup.
The motorcycle operator died as a result of the crash.
The pickup's driver was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
OSP troopers from the Springfield Area Command office are continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash.
OSP was assisted at the scene by Lane County Sheriff's Office and local fire personnel.
