Posted: September 24th, 2012 7:05 PM
On September 24, 2012 at 4:07 pm, Washington County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a
residence on SW Tongue Lane concerning a report of an intoxicated individual causing
problems and acting erratically. This is a rural area south of the city of Hillsboro.
It was reported that a man was acting erratically at a house then got in his Chevrolet Nova,
drove away, and continued the same behavior. Washington County Sheriff's Deputies
converged to the area to stop the man from driving and possibly injuring himself or others. A
few minutes later, deputies were informed that a vehicle crashed into a school bus on SW
Tongue Lane.
When deputies arrived, they found 27-year-old Kyle Getsinger from Hillsboro had crashed his
1974 Chevrolet Nova into the rear of a school bus. Sheriff's Deputies found Mr. Getsinger was
injured and his vehicle sustained significant damage. There were two children and the driver
on the bus, fortunately they reported no injuries. The bus sustained damage to the rear
bumper area.
Kyle Getsinger was transported by ground to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Alcohol does appear to be a factor in this crash. There are charges pending as the
investigation continues.
