SERIOUS INJURY TRAFFIC CRASH - HIGHWAY 47 NORTH OF YAMHILL (PHOTOS)

Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into Sunday morning's two vehicle head-on crash along Highway 47 north of Yamhill that seriously injured one person.
On September 23, 2012 at approximately 7:00 a.m. a 2000 Mitsubishi four-door driven by MARTIN ALFARO PARRERA, age 24, from Beaverton, reportedly was traveling northbound in the southbound lane on Highway 47 near milepost 33. A 2010 Dodge Ram pickup driven by LEVI ECKHART, age 37, from Banks, was southbound and swerved toward the northbound lane to avoid the car at about the same the time the car moved back toward the northbound lane. Both vehicles collided head-on in the northbound lane.
ALFARO PARRERA was transported by ambulance to Tuality Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The right front passenger in his car, ANABEL SERENO HUITRON, age 24, from Beaverton, was transported by LifeFlight to Oregon Health & Science University with serious injuries.
LEVI ECKHART and passenger GABRIELLA ECKHART, age 14, both received minor injuries but were not transported for treatment.
Safety restraint use information is not available.
OSP troopers from the McMinnville Area Command office are continuing the investigation. Senior Trooper Bridget Taylor is the lead investigator. Enforcement action is pending toward ALFARO PARRERA who was driving with a suspended license.
OSP was assisted at the scene by Yamhill County Sheriff's Office, Yamhill Rural Fire Department, McMinnville Fire & Rescue, and ODOT. The highway was blocked for about two hours.
