PRELIMINARY INFORMATION - SERIOUS INJURY TRAFFIC CRASH - HIGHWAY 47 SOUTH OF VERNONIA

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are beginning an investigation into a single vehicle serious injury crash Monday afternoon along Highway 47 about two miles north of Stub Stewart State Park. One person is seriously injured and LifeFlight has been activated leadinig to an expected closure of the highway during their response.

Preliminary information indicates on September 17, 2012 at approximately 4:37 p.m. a vehicle collided into a pole. One person described as a Hispanic female, 20 - 25 years of age, was reported to be seen running from the crash scene toward Beavercreek Trail. It is not known at this time if this was the driver. Anyone seeing someone matching that the description on foot in the area is asked to call Oregon State Police Northern Command Center disparch at 800-452-7888.
