ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The Pacific Power Foundation recently awarded $5,875 in grants to two Douglas County charitable organizations -- Habitat for Humanity and the Roseburg Rotary Foundation. The grants support these organizations and their work to provide affordable housing and scholarship programs to the local community.
"Pacific Power has long supported these organizations and many others with employee volunteer support, board participation, and corporate and Pacific Power Foundation contributions," said Monte Mendenhall, Pacific Power regional community manager. "Roseburg Rotary and Habitat for Humanity are excellent organizations with which to partner. They combine volunteerism with community resources, to maximize benefits to the community."
Habitat for Humanity received $3,500 to support construction of a multi-family residential unit in Roseburg. Roseburg Rotary Foundation received $2,375 to purchase a trailer to be used for storage and as a ticket booth during the Festival of Lights holiday fundraising event.
