Posted: September 18th, 2012 4:43 PM
A commercial truck driver wasn't injured following an early Tuesday morning crash along the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Rogue River. ODOT personnel were on scene during the day coordinating vehicle removal and diesel spill clean up.
According to Trooper Jessica Hall, on September 18, 2012 at approximately 3:30 a.m., a Freightliner truck pulling a semi-trailer was southbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 51 when the driver said he attempted to pull over onto the gravel shoulder and lost control. The vehicles jackknifed as the truck spun into the center median and both vehicles collided with a steep embankment causing the trailer to roll over.
The truck's driver, SITHAN SOK, age 61, from Stockton, California, was not injured.
No other information or photographs available for release.
