Summary of Event
Earlier tonight two men entered an Aloha bakery and robbed a man who was buying and selling gold. A firearm was displayed, but no one was hurt. Deputies were not able to locate the suspects.
Incident
On Sunday, September 16, 2012, at about 7:00 p.m., Sheriff's deputies responded to an armed robbery call at the La Espiga Dorada Bakery. The Business is located at 18370 SW Tualatin Valley Highway in the community of Aloha within the Enhanced Sheriff's Patrol District (ESPD).
The victim told deputies that he does not work at the store, but that he uses space in the store occasionally to buy and sell gold. Tonight, two Black males entered the store and pointed a gun at him. They demanded jewelry and cash from the victim. They left the store without firing any shots and fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry. They were last seen running across the railroad tracks on the south side of TV Highway toward SW Shaw Street.
Sheriff's deputies surrounded the area and a K9 team attempted to track the suspects. However the track was unsuccessful.
The victim described the suspects as black males, both in their early 20's, both wearing blue jeans. They were 5'8 to 6'0 tall with skinny builds. One suspect was wearing a grey hoodie and the other suspect was wearing a black hoodie. One of the suspects brandished a semi-automatic handgun.
Investigators are asking that anyone who may have seen the suspects running from the scene or getting into a car in the neighborhood south of SW Shaw Street, to please call the Sheriff's Office at 503-629-0111.
