DROWNING DEATH INVESTIGATION - SUMMIT LAKE IN KLAMATH COUNTY

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are gathering information following the accidental drowning death of an adult female Monday afternoon at Summit Lake southwest of Crescent Lake in Klamath County. The victim's name may be released Tuesday after OSP confirms her background information and next of kin are notified.
Preliminary information indicates on the afternoon of September 17, 2012, OSP and local emergency personnel responded to Summit Lake after receiving a report of a possible drowning. The female victim was at Summit Lake with two other women swimming when she drowned. Inital attempts to revive her were unsuccessful and she was pronounced deceased.
OSP was assisted during the response by US Forest Service, Central Cascades Fire & EMS, and Air Link.
No other information to be released tonight.
