Beaverton City Library Offers Parent and Child Workshops This Fall

BEAVERTON CITY LIBRARY OFFERS PARENT AND CHILD WORKSHOPS THIS FALL

Join the Children's Division at Beaverton City Library during September and October for hands-on early literacy sessions. Learning materials are provided by the American Library Association.

"The library workshops are a great resource for families with young children and instill the power of reading at an early age," said Mayor Denny Doyle. "Beaverton is blessed with a very literate community and workshops like these help foster a life-long love for reading."

Choose a workshop that best fits your need and register online at www.BeavertonLibrary.gov/kids, under the Programs and Events tab.

The workshops include:

Fun with Letters - Play and learn for ages two to five years old and parents.
Tuesday, Sept. 25, 6:30-7:15 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 26, 10:30-11:15 a.m.

Babies Need Early Literacy, Too! - For infants under 12 months.
Thursday, Sept. 27, 6:30-7:15 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 28, 11-11:45 a.m.

Brain Development Workshop - For parents and caregivers. No children, please.
Thursday, Oct. 4, 7-8:30 p.m.

Fun with Words - For ages two to five years old and parents.
Wednesday, Oct. 9, 3:30-4:15 p.m. and 6:30-7:15 p.m.

Fun with Math and Science - For ages two to five years old and parents.
Monday, Oct. 22, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 24, 1-2 p.m.
